Y6 Homework to be completed by Friday 3rd February

Hi Class 6!

Don't forget the more homework you complete, the more ASB pounds you can earn! This year is your most important year yet and being responsible for your learning is essential if you are going to achieve everything you are capable of. All we ask is that you do your best and that you believe in yourself!

Good luck from Mr T and Miss Hann.

Please make sure that you are reading for at least 20 minutes a day, 5 times a week.

This could be a fiction book, non-fiction book, blog post, newspaper, comic, or something else. Remember in the words of Dr Seuss,

'The more that you READ, the more things you will KNOW. The more that you LEARN, the more places you will GO'.

There is a maths quiz linking to our class learning last week on for you to complete. (Fractions B)

Don't forget that you can practise on TTRockstars for some extra maths learning. There is an assignment for you to complete in 'Garage'.

This week there is a SPaG quiz linking to our grammar learning last week on for you to complete. (Hyphens, dashes & bullet points A)

Non-Chronological Report

Next week the children will be planning and writing a non-chronological report about an animal from the Amazon Rainforest or an animal of their choice. Please encourage them to  to do some more research about their chosen animal. This will really help them when it comes to them writing independently.

The children should now be able to spell all of the Year 5 and 6 Statutory Spellings (see attached list). During this half term, we will be testing them on a weekly basis to identify any words that they currently can't spell. Please practice these at home. This week, we will focus on the last 15 words on the list (soldier - yacht).
