Number bonds
This week we have thought about our number bonds to 10. These are two numbers that can be added to make 10 e.g. 0 and 10, 1 and 9, 2 and 8 etc. Learning these by heart is such a valuable skill and easy to do at home in a range of fun ways. By the end of Year 1 children are expected to know their number bonds up to 20 so helping your child with these would be such a help to them.
Parts and wholes
This week have learnt how to break numbers into parts. The homework this week will help consolidate this learning.
You will see that there are three different levels of worksheet. Please pick the one that best suits your child it should be managable with perhaps a little support. The last one is a challenging one for those needing that extra challenge in maths and is likely to be quite difficult for most of the children.
Please try to make homework fun and light hearted and please don't feel afraid to stop when you think your child has reached the point in which they have had enough! Perhaps set a time limit and work to that!
