Compare numbers within 50.

Task- Today we will be learning to compare numbers up to 50 using the words and symbols for less than <, greater than > and equal to =. Please complete questions 1 to 4 in the worksheet ‘Comparing numbers to 50’ after our whole class learning.
The following video could be used in the place of the live lesson if you are unable to attend.
Don’t forget you can log into Numbots for some more maths fun!
10.30-10.40 Spellings
Choose some year 1 common exception words to learn that you do not know yet. Perhaps if you are confident with the year 1 words you could make a start with the year 2 words!
11.00 – 11.40 English

Task- We will explore a range of verbs or action words and act some out for our peers to guess. We will look for verbs in a range of sentences including some from our story ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth.’ Next, we will think of actions to go with each verb.
Following our live lesson, the children will be able to work through the activity sheet ‘Verb Spotter and Actions’ where they can identify a range of further verbs in sentences from our story and think of accompanying actions. Afterwards as an optional challenge the children may like to think of substitute verbs to replace the existing verbs and write out the new sentences.

Please read the information in ‘All about elephants’ together on pages 1 (easier), pages 4-5 (middle ability) or pages 8, 9 and 10 (higher ability). The differentiated questions follow on from each set of facts – please just choose the questions most suited to your child. There is no need to write down the answers.
