Barefoot Computing – Is this a good boat?

WALT –Talk about why things happen and how things work. Look closely at similarities, differences

In this activity, children explore floating and sinking by placing different objects in a water tray.

Children predict which objects would sink or float and test their predictions. This can then be recorded in the sheet. I have included 2 versions of the sheet, one with some suggestions for items to test and one version where you can choose and label your own items. Children may need an adult to label their pictures for them. Are there any similarities between the items that float/sink?
