Pastoral care at our school
Here at Babbacombe Primary School we are deeply committed to the emotional wellbeing of all our pupils. We strive to provide first class pastoral care and have a wide range of provision to meet the needs of our pupils. We have embedded SEAL (social and emotional aspects of learning) into our curriculum and this is delivered weekly through whole class teaching in each year group and in the form of small group work for targeted children.
In addition we offer THRIVE time to meet individual children's emotional needs. We can also provide individual anger managment support programmes and friendship mentoring if needed.
We are lucky to have a trained bereavement counsellor on our staff who can support children and adults who have experienced loss.
Pastoral support leader
We are very fortunate to employ the services of a qualified counsellor who provides 1:1 counselling for children, who have emotional or behavioural needs; we also offer support for parents. Anne is a registered member of BACP.
