VE Day Celebrations
VE Day Celebration
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you are all well. Friday 8th May marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Victory in Europe Day, generally known as VE Day or V-E Day, is a day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces on 8 May 1945.
As a community we hope to mark this day with a celebration – I am sure we could all do with one at the moment. We hope that on Friday 8th May you can join in with a tea/garden party of your very own. We have a selection of resources available here:

As part of the celebrations we’ll also be running a design a tea cup competition. Tea cups were produced in 1945 to mark and celebrate VE Day. The winner of the competition will have their design printed on a cup/mug and will receive a selection of World War 2 Children’s books.
If you can share photos and videos of your celebrations we’ll bring them together to share what we have been up to with our community.
Have fun celebrating and remember if there is anything you need help with please get in touch.
Kind Regards;
Mr. Nutbeam
